My Patches is a feature in the Classic Pricefinder interface that lets you save custom map areas (patches) and run prospecting reports against them. Instead of searching by suburb name, you draw a polygon on the map to define exactly which streets and properties to target.
Important points to be noted:
- My Patches are on the Map Search map.
- My Patches must be set up before you can use them for prospecting. If you have not yet created patches, the panel shows "No Patches added yet".
- You can add individual custom map areas (Add Patch), defined geographic regions (Add Region), or carve holes out of an existing patch (Add Hole). Add Region and Add Hole become available once you are working with a patch.
- When running a report from Map Search, you can select from four report types: Sales Report, Ownership Report, Listings Report, Rentals Report.
Please follow the below mentioned steps to use My Patches for prospecting:
- Log in to Pricefinder, then switch to the Classic version.
-
On the search page, scroll to the Map Search section.
-
Click the vertical My Patches tab on the right edge of the map (next to Map Layers) to expand the panel. Until you create a patch it reads: "Use 'My Patches' to add and save your own regions of interest for future use." with 1. Select Patch, "No Patches added yet" and + Add Patch.
- To create a new patch, click + Add Patch. On the map, draw a polygon around the area you want to target by clicking to set each boundary point. Close the polygon by clicking back on the starting point.
- To add a region (a predefined geographic boundary such as a council area or suburb boundary), use Add Region and select the region type from the options presented.
- To carve a hole out of an existing patch (for example, to exclude a section of the area), use Add Hole and draw the exclusion zone inside the existing patch boundary.
- Once you have patches saved, they appear as a list in the My Patches panel under Select Patch.
- To run a report on a patch: select the patch from the list, choose a report type from the Please select your report type dropdown below the map (Sales Report - recent sales in the patch area, Ownership Report - ownership details for all properties in the patch, Listings Report - current listings in the patch area, or Rentals Report - rental listings in the patch area), and click Search.
- The prospecting results for the selected patch and report type open in the standard results page.
