Phone Search is a dedicated search tab Pricefinder interface that lets you look up properties by the occupant’s name and location. It is distinct from the Owner Name search under Property Search - Phone Search is designed specifically to return phone numbers associated with the matching properties.
Important points to be noted:
- Phone Search results are for information purposes only. See the DNCR compliance guidance below before using any phone numbers returned.
- The Surname / Company field is optional - you can search by Street Name and Suburb alone.
- Results can be refined to show Residential phone numbers, Business phone numbers, or both.
- Phone numbers on a Pricefinder property report are also subject to the same compliance warning - phone searching should be treated as compliance-sensitive at all times.
Please follow the below mentioned steps to search using Phone Search:
- Log in to Pricefinder.
-
Click the Phone Search tab in the search tab bar.
-
The Search Phone Numbers form opens with three fields:
Field
Description
Surname / Company The surname or company name of the person you are looking for. This field is marked Optional - you can leave it blank to search all occupants on a street. Street Name The street name to search within. Suburb The suburb to search within. Select the suburb from the suggestion list that appears as you type. - Enter the search criteria and click Search.
-
The results page opens with your matching properties. A warning banner is shown above the results: "Warning: phone numbers are provided for information purposes only and must not be used for unsolicited calls." To filter by phone number type, use the Refine Search panel:
- Include Residential - show properties with residential phone numbers.
- Include Business - show properties with business phone numbers.
(Names and phone numbers are hidden in the example above for privacy.)
- Phone numbers returned are for information purposes only. Before using any number, read the compliance note below.
Phone number compliance
When Pricefinder returns phone numbers, the following compliance statements are displayed on the results page:
Warning banner (above results): "phone numbers are provided for information purposes only and must not be used for unsolicited calls."
Below the results table: "Phone Numbers should be used as a guide only. Please ensure you have permission to call telephone numbers before calling."
DNCR symbol legend (below the results table):
Symbol |
Meaning |
|---|---|
| * | Phone number exists on the Do Not Call Register |
| ^ | Phone number did NOT exist on the Do Not Call Register when last washed |
| (no prefix) | Phone number has not been washed against the DNCR |
Note: Pricefinder washes phone numbers against the DNCR, but this may not be real-time. The ^ prefix means the number was not on the DNCR at the time of last wash - always verify independently before calling. The DNCR compliance warning applies equally to phone numbers returned via Phone Search and those shown on property reports.
